Claire Standley

Dr. Claire Standley is an Assistant Professor for Research within the Department of International Health at Georgetown University. Her research focuses on the analysis of health systems strengthening and international capacity building for public health, with an emphasis on prevention and control of infectious diseases in both humans and animals, as well as public health emergency preparedness and response.

Prior to joining Georgetown University, Dr. Standley was a Senior Research Scientist at The George Washington University Milken Institute of Public Health, and also previously served as a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the Department of State, where she worked on international biosecurity issues. Dr. Standley completed her postdoctoral training at Princeton University, where her research focused on the ecology of infectious diseases with an emphasis on zoonotic parasites,encompassing field research in East Africa and Central America. Outside of her academic work, she is involved in various malaria advocacy ventures, including serving as the Managing Editor for www.malaria.com, and consults on issues related to One Health, the nexus between health and security, and global health diplomacy.
