The Georgetown University Global Health Institute (GUGHI) in conjunction with Georgetown Collaborative for Research and Education to Advance Children’s Health (GC-REACH) has launched a Global Maternal & Child Health Collaborative to bring together faculty members from across Georgetown to share their work in this field and collaborate more closely.
This initiative brings together faculty and experts from various disciplines across the university—ranging from clinical medicine and nursing to law, economics, physics, and public policy—to address critical issues in maternal and child health (MCH) worldwide. By fostering interdisciplinary partnerships and innovative research, the collaborative aims to improve health outcomes for mothers and children, promote sustainable health care practices, and influence policy development. Its members are engaged in diverse projects worldwide, such as enhancing newborn care and early childhood mental health, supporting HIV and TB programs, and expanding midwifery models. Other project examples include studying the impact of incentives on health behaviors, implementing improvements in vaccination coverage, developing innovative medical technologies like early diagnostics for cystic fibrosis, and addressing legal frameworks for MCH.
If you are interested in joining the collaborative, please fill out this interest form. For more information on the collaborative and questions, please contact globalhealth@georgetown.edu.
