In this discussion experts, development practitioners, and social entrepreneurs considered local innovations to combat the coronavirus pandemic in the Latin America and the Caribbean region, including telemedicine in Jamaica (MDLink), an app for contact tracing in Ecuador (Grupo Link & Kin Analytics), and low-cost ventilators in Colombia (InspiraMed with Ruta N).

Cesar Buenadicha and Ruth Houliston of the IDB Lab at the Inter-American Development Bank provided an overview of the innovation competition and regional context, followed by presentations on individual projects. Elaina Faust (G’21) moderated the discussion.
