Global Health Initiative "Brown Bag" Series - Combining Research, Policy, and Advocacy to Improve Public Health Outcomes

Charles Holmes

Dr. Charles Holmes, faculty co-director of the Center for Global Health and Quality and a visiting associate professor in the Department of Medicine, talked about the ways in which he's used his experience in the field and in public health leadership positions to develop research ideas, advocate for health systems innovations, and drive policy change.

Dr. Charles Holmes, MD, MPH is a physician who has held senior global health leadership roles in government, academia, and non-governmental organizations. He recently served a four-year tenure as CEO of the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia, where he led a successful financial, governance and programmatic turnaround of the 1,000 person, $35 million organization.

The Global Health Initiative "Brown Bag" Series focuses on various global health topics and feature faculty from across schools and disciplines.

This event is part of a series of lunches that serve as opportunities for sharing lessons from our extensive academic offerings in global health, as well as provide a platform for faculty to learn about each other's work and identify potential areas for collaboration. The lunches are open to Georgetown faculty and students across all campuses and schools.
