The Global Public Health Seminars bring together faculty, research staff, and graduate students from across Georgetown University to present works in progress and explore new opportunities for collaborative research. The seminars also provide a forum for visiting researchers from around the world to meet with Georgetown colleagues and share their research. The seminars take place weekly on Mondays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. ET.
Launched in September 2017 as the Global Health Security Seminar Series, the initial focus for the seminars on global health security and public health emergencies has broadened over time. As of the spring 2024 semester, the seminars now explore a range of applied global health subjects that include epidemiology, health policy, health systems, and public health research, drawing on a mix of qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
The events are co-sponsored by the Center for Global Health Science and Security, the School of Health’s Department of Health Management and Policy and Department of Global Health, the Center for Global Health Practice and Impact, and the Global Health Institute at Georgetown University.
If you are interested in presenting for the seminar series, please fill out the interest form here. Please note that presentation slots are primarily intended for faculty, research staff, and postgraduate research students, as well as visiting external researchers.
