Interdisciplinary Case Challenge: Rising Waters

A flooded river

This case challenge will examine how severe flooding in the fictional mountain town of Riverton has overwhelmed local infrastructure, displaced residents, and disproportionately harmed low-income and vulnerable populations.

Held once each semester, this competition is open to current undergraduate and graduate students from across Georgetown University, as well as residents and fellows from MedStar Health. In preparation for the event, participants will receive the case and relevant resources to review. During the event, they will collaborate in Zoom breakout rooms before coming together to share their proposals. A panel of judges composed of university faculty will evaluate the proposals and select a winning team.

This case challenge is hosted by the Berkley School of Nursing and the Global Health Institute at Georgetown University.
