This session in the Georgetown-Lancet Commission on Faith, Trust, and Health webinar series will focus on faith-sensitive approaches to mental health and psychosocial support.

The session will examine how faith and spiritual worldviews influence when and where people seek care. Bringing together voices from mental health, academia, and faith communities, the webinar will explore how collaboration can strengthen trust and support care that meaningfully engages both spiritual and psychological dimensions.

Alastair Ager, Ph.D., is an emeritus professor of global health and development at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.

Rania Awaad, M.D., is a clinical professor of psychiatry and the director of the Muslim Mental Health & Islamic Psychology Lab at Stanford University.

Katherine Marshall, M.A., MPA, is a senior fellow at Georgetown University’s Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs and executive director of the World Faiths Development Dialogue. 

Diana Rayes, Ph.D., is the program director of the Faith and Global Health Initiative at the Georgetown University Global Health Institute.
