Beatrice Salas
School of Nursing and Health Studies
Beatrice Salas (NHS’22) is a junior at Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies where she majors in human science. Her interest in social determinants of health (SDOH) began during the spring semester of 2020 when she had the opportunity to take a course in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. As a Filipino immigrant, she wants to explore how SDOH affects migrant communities. Inspired by her identity and the class she took in spring 2020, Beatrice worked under the direction of Professor Erin Sorrell as a fall 2020 GHI student fellow.
