Effi Holston
Master's Student in the Walsh School of Foreign Service
Effi Holston (G'25) is a candidate for the M.A. in Eurasian, Russian, and East European studies at Georgetown's Walsh School of Foreign Service. She attended Brown University for her undergraduate degree, where she studied linguistic anthropology, Hispanic studies, and classics. Through various research experiences, she has explored international human rights violations, standards of care for survivors of trafficking, and transit migration in the Americas. Her interests include language politics, mixed migration movements, and humanitarian problem-solving. As a 2024-2025 Global Health Institute Student Fellow, she is working with Professor John Quattrochi to study the relationship between violence, displacement, and health in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
