Hana Burkly (NHS'19, G'20) is pursuing a joint B.S./M.S. degree in global health at Georgetown. As a fall 2018 GHI student fellow, she is working with health economist Vincent Turbat to ascertain how sub-Saharan African countries can capture a demographic dividend by decreasing their economic dependency ratios and increasing female employment rates. Hana is also a research assistant at RTI International, where she is compiling a global gap analysis of countries affected by soil-transmitted helminths.
