Department of Biology
Heidi Elmendorf is an associate professor in the Department of Biology in Georgetown College; co-director of undergraduate studies in biology; and co-director of the major in biology of global health. She is a member of the Global Health Initiative faculty committee.
International activities include:
- Conducts research on the intestinal pathogen Giardia lamblia, which causes widespread disease in people and animals worldwide.
- Serves as co-director of the biology of global health major and teaches a wide range of courses within the department.
- Served as a visiting scholar with the Carnegie Foundation.
