Kayla Wontumi
Undergraduate in the School of Health
Kayla Wontumi (H'27) is an undergraduate student at Georgetown University’s School of Health, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in global health with a minor in science, technology, and international affairs. With a profound interest in advancing health equity, addressing maternal and child health disparities, and examining the intersection of policy frameworks and health systems, she has actively been engaged in numerous research pursuits and coursework to deepen her understanding of complex global health issues. Following graduation, Wontumi aspires to further her education, broaden her fieldwork experiences, and ultimately become a global health practitioner dedicated to driving change through community-led interventions and advocacy, evidence-based decision-making, and collaborative action. As a 2025-2026 recipient of the Maeve Kennedy McKean Global Health Award, she plans to investigate how holistic health care approaches shape clinical outcomes and the empowerment of mothers at a local clinic in Tanzania.
