Marina Smith was an undergraduate student in the School of Foreign Service. She was studying Science, Technology, and International Affairs with a concentration in Global Health and was completing a thesis that studied how and why local health departments in the U.S. and South Africa collect data related to health. She planned to pursue a career in epidemiology and aspired to hold a leadership position at an urban public health agency. She was a student fellow in the Georgetown Global Health Initiative Student Fellows program in spring 2018.
