Global Health Institute

Matthew Carvalho (H’23) is pursing the accelerated master’s degree program in global health, along with his bachelor’s in the same field with minors in Russian and disability studies, at Georgetown’s School of Health. Originally from southeast Massachusetts, Matthew has worked multiple jobs in the global health governance and diplomacy fields, mainly from a researcher perspective. He hopes to one day work abroad at the macro level, identifying gaps in international conventions and working to mend fissures in global health frameworks. As a fall 2022 GHI student fellow, Matthew worked with Lawrence Gostin to provide research support for the second edition of Global Health Law.
