Phoebe Ato
Medical Student in the School of Medicine
Phoebe Ato (M’27) is a medical student at Georgetown University’s School of Medicine. Living in Nigeria during her early childhood, she gained firsthand insight into what it means to go without access to health care. As a result, she desires to conduct research that crosses national boundaries relating to health access, health equity, and health outcomes. With an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Boston University, she is passionate about tackling challenges and finding creative solutions at the intersection of health care, engineering, and business on a global scale. As a spring 2024 GHI student fellow, Phoebe worked with Neal Horen on an analysis of early childhood mental health in Latin America and the Caribbean.
