The application for the 2025-2026 Global Health Student Fellows program will open on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and close on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. This paid, year-long opportunity invites 20 undergraduate and graduate students to collaborate with senior faculty on interdisciplinary global health research projects.

Since its launch in 2017, the program has welcomed nearly 200 students from every school at Georgetown University.
Past fellows have published academic papers, taken part in international placements, and secured post-graduation positions through connections made during the fellowship. One notable example is Mackenzie S. Moore (G’20), who met her faculty mentor Rebecca Katz, Ph.D., while she was a fellow. Their collaboration resulted in The Outbreak Atlas (2024), a book that examines outbreak preparedness, response, and recovery through case studies and visual narratives.
Fellowship Highlights
Fellows spend five to ten hours each week gaining hands-on research experience on a critical global health issue with guidance from faculty mentors. The fellowship concludes with an end-of-year presentation to share the outcomes of their work.
Fellows also network with their cohort and global health scholars at exclusive events that support their academic and professional development.
