Janeeta Shaukat

Janeeta Shaukat (H’24) is an undergraduate student at Georgetown University’s School of Health with a major in global health and minor in education, inquiry, and justice. She was born and raised in New York but has roots in Kashmir. As a first-generation student, she is very passionate about educational equity. She founded Futures of Kashmir, an organization that builds libraries in Kashmiri schools and provides low-income students with school supplies to allow them to attend school. She is also the director of Spiritual Events for Muslim Life on campus. Janeeta is interested in exploring different approaches to provide holistic support for students. As a fall 2023 GHI student fellow, she worked with Shabab Wahid on the launch of an interdisciplinary initiative for global mental health and well-being at Georgetown University.
